Baltimore Sun’s Michael Balsamo’s Midnight Sun Tattoo Gets a Major Makeover
Posted November 19, 2018 06:32:28 It’s been a long time coming, but the Midnight Sun tattoo on Michael Balamo’s chest is finally getting a major makeover.
The tattoo artist, who has made the tattoo on Balsamos chest into a symbol of his inner turmoil, has released the video to Instagram.
In the video, Balsams eyes light up when he sees the video and when he reads the words “mammoth,” he says, “That’s a great idea.”
He adds, “I was just talking to my brother about this, that’s a good idea.
So yeah, that’ll probably come up.”
Balsamoes father was also on hand to witness the transformation.
Michael said, “The Midnight Sun is a symbol to me, I’m going to take that and do a bigger tattoo.
I think it’s going to be more of a sun on my back and I want to make it more of an inner conflict.”
Michael’s tattoo is part of his new memoir, which is scheduled for release in the coming weeks.
Balsamo, who is currently in the middle of a road trip with his wife, told the Baltimore Sun he was inspired by a friend who was having a similar tattoo.
He said, “‘You know, I don’t like the sun on the back, I think you need to have a bigger sun on your back.’
So we did some research on it and he was like, ‘Oh, I see that on my neck, too.’
So I just did the same thing.
I got that one tattoo, and I got this big sun on it.
It was cool.”
The tattoo on the side of Balsame’s neck is also a symbol for Balsamic.
“I always wanted to have my tattoo on my right side, and then it just kind of happened that I was in the wrong place,” Balsami said.
“I went to my favorite tattoo parlor in Brooklyn and had a couple of different people say, ‘That’s not right.
You need to do that on your right side.’
I was like ‘Oh.
Balsami added, “When I got it done I was thinking, ‘Man, this is going to look great on my left.’
I thought that was a great symbol for me to be on my own right side and I kind of figured out that was how it would be on the inside of my body.”
The tattoos are currently being sold through a tattoo shop in Brooklyn.
Balamo told the Sun, “This was something that I wanted to do.
I wanted this tattoo to be there for a long, long time.
I was so nervous about it.”
The Midnight SUN tattoo is one of many new tattoos that Balsamas brother Michael Balesamos has created for the artist.
He is a tattoo artist at Night Light Tattoo and Gifts, a tattoo company based in Brooklyn, New York.
