Irish Sun reporter Mark Gorman reports that people in Cork have been celebrating the solar-eclipse-year-long eclipse of the sun with a beer.
A bottle of Guinness will also be sold at the city’s main bar. “
People are doing it with beer, they are celebrating the eclipse, they’re having the celebrations and they’re drinking it.”
A bottle of Guinness will also be sold at the city’s main bar.
“It’s not like a holiday, it’s not for the faint of heart,” said Cork City Councillor Joe Gannon.
“But it’s a celebration, it’ll be good.”
He said people should have a glass of Guinness, but people should not drink more than one bottle at a time.
“I don’t think people should drink more beer than they should,” he said.
Mr Gannon said he was pleased to see people taking part in the eclipse.
“You’re getting all the details right, you’re getting it in the right places,” he added.
We are seeing all these amazing things from space and space is really good for us.”
